Today I made my logo for my clothings. The word for my logo is UYJ (unlimited yunji)^^ I carved an eraser and made the logo. It didn’t take that long for me to carve it. I need to add some details, but I think it was a success. So, the goal for tomorrow is printing that logo in my shirt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Today I think I did a great job. I accomplished my goal and even farther!!! During art time, I was planning to make another stencil. However, I got to find my fabric canvas so I decided to make a bag with it. I was finding for that canvas and I was so glad that I found it! I went right to the sewing machine. However, I was kind of stuck in the setting part. So I asked Mr. Frank the way and he helped me. I attached the two fabric and sewed it together. Louisa helped me flipping the bag over. The fun part was flicking the brush to put the ink on the bag. I think that part made my bag much better. The thing that I want to improve is, I want to change the word to [unlimited] instead of no limit. Then I can write it in a positive way!! I think today was an awesome day and I loved it!!! :) #Wonderful
Today I kind of worked thoroughly on my math blog. I finish writing one, but I am revising it now. In the first period I planned to work on my second stencil and print it. However, I found out that the art room was full all time so I had to work on something else. So I decided to work on my math blog. ( the other reason was that I need to catch up in the math blogs.) I wanted to continue my screen printing from yesterday. This project is kind of connected to my art WOW project. My topic for my WOW project is [expressing myself] and I am also doing that topic for my six week project as well. So I decided to use some of my printing for the art project.
Sometimes I have a feeling that I don’t really want to screen print.(even though I chose to do it.) So want to add something else like color dying clothes, making things with the printed cloth, etc. So for tomorrow’s schedule, I found out that there are some free time in Thursday, so (if there is no math in that period) than I want to go right away to the art room and work on my project. Now I started brainstorming of my print design for the second week. At first, I was planning to make a stencil design connected to my Tet holiday trip to America. However, it took me awhile to come up with an idea. I was just thinking of ideas for the whole week, but I couldn’t decide the exact design that I wanted. So, I chose to do some researches before. Luckily, I found out there are interesting designing books in the art room. I wanted to illustrate the concept about nature(animals, flowers) and quotes(positive). Here are some of my brainstorming of the design. For the following week, I am going to refine my artwork and add colors and make it ready for the stencil.
During the student led conference, my mom and dad came, and I showed them what I did at school so far. I invited my parents to my classroom first to show what I had been learning.
First, I showed them my unit plan and the math slides. I showed my parents my first unit plan and the second one (that I am planning to start.) I told them who was my expert, what was the hard part, and what can I improve. For the math slides, I showed my olympic math slides and the ping-pong tournament slides. I explained where was the part that I was stuck and etc Second, I went to the art room and showed my parents how to silkscreen. (which is related to my starting project.) I borrowed some silkscreen materials and started to make a stencil. I thought about the various of designs that I wanted to print, and finally I chose to print a family shape on the fabric. I spent a lot of time in the art room because one of my favorite subjects was art. I was glad to show my parents what I was working at and they liked it as well. The final part was the most exciting part. I got to show my parents PE and WL (Physical Education and World Language.) I rushed to WL first because I didn’t have much time left. So I quickly showed an example of quizlet and some worksheets that we did in class time. It was nearly lunchtime when I was going to show my mom & dad PE. First, I went to the MPR and turned on the i-pad for the beep test. So basically, this is for a pace test and your running when there is a beep sound. My score was level 8.5 so I thought my mom would reach at least level 3. However, she only reached to level 1.4! :D After I finished my SLC, My parents gave me some feedbacks on good points and some points to improve. They were pleased to see my work done by myself, and commented that for the next time, they would like to see not only the ones that I am interested in but more of other activities in overall. I think that is also important to me. My feedback for my self is I think I did a great job, and I need to do the time management a bit well to be more organized. My last project was about designing and making a pair clothes with sewing. After I successfully finished this project, I decided to persevere it and develop it into more sophisticated way. So this time, I chose to add nice details on my clothes by using silkscreen printing method. With this, once I choose a design and make a silkscreen of it, then I can produce many of that prints on various of products.
Here are my weekly plans… Week 1 Learn how to silkscreen from Ms. Anna. Week 2 Design an artwork and make stencils out of it. Then, practice silkscreen printings on fabrics and shirts. Week 3 Start working on my actual design. Week 4 Make stencils and start printing. Week 5 Complete with the printing work on the products. Have printings on various materials like on clothes, T-shirts, bags, and etc. For Week 1, I got to learn how to silkscreen from Ms. Anna. It was only my second time to do it so I tried with some simple designs first. Finally I could do it by myself. For the next time, I will try to make a detailed designs. |
