In math time we learned about capacity. So, me, Minh Anh, and Olesya chose an object to measure the capacity of it. We chose ‘ how many sandboxes could fit in the swimming pool.’ We grabbed four meter sticks and went down to measure those objects. First, we went to measure the sandbox and estimated that about 59 will fit. We found out that the sandbox wasn’t an exact rectangle. So, we estimated that it is a rectangle.
The measurement: length-4.47m, width-4.47m, height-0.36m. The volume of the sandbox: 4.47x4.47x0.36=7.193124m Next we went to measure the swimming pool. Also, we had a problem. The swimming pool’s height was different. It got deeper at the end so we decided to only measure the shallow side. Luckily I knew the length of the swimming pool because I swam there every day. I asked the life-gard and I found out some information about the pool. The measurement: length-25m, width-14m, shallow end-1.2m The volume:420 m3 After that we came to our class and showed Mr. Pug what we had done. Mr. Pug told us that we can we can get the average and make the answer more accurate. The average of the height of the swimming pool was 1.5m. The volume: 25x14x1.5=525m3 So the final answer is 75 sand box fits in a pool.

In math time our class worked on how much time you are spending on a device and show it in many ways.
So my answer is... I spend 2 hours in my device in one day. One week: 14 hours one month (30 days): 60 hours one year (12 month and 365 days) If I predict I live until 100 then I will have to live 90 more years. 90 years: 180 hours In this process I was good at multiplying numbers. However I need to practice on big number's division. Question: Amanda was the only one who had enough money, so she ended up paying 200,000 dong of the total price. The other 3 advisors only paid 30,000 each. Also, Amanda wasn't really hungry, because she had already eaten dinner. Taryn was just kind of hungry because she had a salad earlier. Suzanne doesn't like pepperoni. Mr. Pug hasn't eaten anything all day. How should they split the pizza?
My answer was I guess Ms. Amanda paid the most so she would eat at least 2 pieces and Mr. Pug is the most hungry person so he would eat 4 pieces. Lastly, Ms. Taryn is kind of hungry so she would eat 2 pieces and Ms. Suzanne doesn't like pepperoni so she would eat none. After I saw some peoples answers as well I thought I kind of of want to change my idea. one of the comment that I had red threre were - Ms. Suzanne can eat the pizza with out the pepperonis. so I think l am going to use that idea as well. |
